We enjoyed our task to plant native shrubs and grasses at Banksia Village to celebrate National Tree Day on Friday last week and I know that Banksia Village residents will enjoy the extra plantings in their garden beds.

A big congratulations to Levi who has completed the Minilit course with Ms Hanks. All that hard work and focus has come to its completion.
Well done Levi! We have known all year until now that our class male leaf insect would only live for approximately six months. I had prepared the children for that fact since Ms Hanks first gave the male and female to us.
Sadly he died during our last week of Term 2. I showed him to the students and we were all a little sad about it. Our female leaf insect is still laying eggs daily - we have sooo... many eggs but the challenge will be to get any of them to hatch. This could take all the rest of this year and even longer. And it may take a lot of luck too I think! So it's goodbye to our male leaf insect - we have enjoyed watching him for so long. It was interesting to hear about Eli's trip to the last State of Origin game in Sydney.
What an amazing experience that must have been especially since NSW had such a long awaited win! For our final week of Term 2 our Literacy groups were given the task of producing a lego display together. This involved much planning and discussion. The Yellow Group are to be congratulated for producing something completely integrated. Here are some of the individual lego displays. Here is Elias' lego. Well done Elias - we will miss you.
We enjoyed hosting Miss Gill in our class for 3 weeks. We will miss her extra assistance and we hope she will come back to visit sometimes.
