The students had to copy a modelled 3D structure of interconnected blocks then describe the number of layers and rows to show that "2 layers of 9 blocks equals 18 blocks" so 2 x 9 = 18.
This is a reminder to all parents and/or carers that our swimming school is fast approaching - two weeks of daily swimming in Weeks 8 and 9. It is important for all notes and money to be returned as soon as possible. Any spare spaces by the end of Week 6 will be offered to Year 3 students so I hope no Year 2 students will miss out because the note was forgotten. If you have mislaid the note please contact the office to get another one.
The way for students to gain greater confidence and skill in the water is to have this intensive daily opportunity. Well done to 2P - almost every Year 2 student has returned the note and is attending the swim school. Congratulations to Evie-Winter for her commitment to doing her best at all times and to Sebastian for working independently and producing great storywriting.
There has been some pleasing awards for consistent daily reading this week but there's still many more students whose Reading Logs I would love to see returned, to award even more certificates. Congratulations to Amelia and Charlotte Gray who have read more than 200 times!
Happy Reading everyone! Monty did a great job of creating a poster for Water Week. It's now displayed on our classroom window as a reminder for us all. Well done Monty!
Congratulations to Layla, Eli and Tom and to Latai who missed receiving her award in Week 3. Congratulations Latai and Tom for reaching their Silver Award and to Eli for reaching his Gold Award.
Every child in our class should be very proud of their efforts in presenting our very special Remembrance Day Assembly. They spoke clearly and confidently and with expression and I was very proud of each and every one of them. They conducted themselves respectfully and responsibly and have shown how much they have developed and achieved this year.
